7 Basics of Good Web Design

By George Peirson (c) 2009

Whether you are just starting a web design project, looking at revamping an existing site, or just wanting to double check the usability of your current web site you should consider these 7 Basics of Good Web Design.

These basics are aimed at new visitors/customers; your repeat customers will be judging your web site on different values. Just like wearing the appropriate clothes for a job interview, these basics will help you pick out the "look" of your web site so that you make a good first impression.

1. Fast Loading Web Site - Any way you look at it, a fast loading page should be your number 1 concern. The web is all about speed, fast searches, fast purchases, fast information. You can't have any of that with a slow loading page. Ask yourself this question - have you ever been on Google doing a search for something important and a link you clicked on didn't open up immediately? What did you do? Patiently wait for the page to open or move onto the next link on the page? My favorite sites open almost immediately.

So, a few suggestions: Make sure that your images are properly optimized. Don't use very many large images, save those for a different page. Keep any auto-running multimedia to a minimum, provide links to run media instead. Check your code for anything else that could affect your page loading times. Since text loads almost instantly go ahead and use all the text you want, just keep everything else under control.

2. No Meaningless Splash Page - Do you appreciate a fancy animation page that doesn't tell you anything and you have to wait for before the web site will open? Neither do I. The last thing I want once I find an interesting site is to wait through some animation before getting to the first page. This doesn't mean that I don't want multimedia on a site, I do. I just don't want an animation before the first page that forces me to wait for it to finish before getting onto the site. It's like having to wait for a salesperson to finish their memorized speech before you can ask them a question. No thanks! I like animation, just in the right place and at the right time. Plus, if I am a returning customer, I will have already seen that animation and don't need to see it again.

My suggestion is to use a smaller animation contained in your main landing page which also includes your main message and links to the rest of your site. It will make for a faster loading page (smaller file) and your visitors can go ahead with accessing your site without having to wait for the animation to finish.

One final note, don't ever put your logo as the only content on your landing page with a link that says "Enter Site". This just screams Unprofessional and will drive away potential visitors in droves. The last thing I want to do is to click on another link just to get into the site. This is a total waste of my time. I usually will skip a site if I see this.

3. No Annoying Web Gimmicks - Now that you have your visitor on your site quickly the one thing you don't want to do is to drive them away just as quickly. So, don't put anything annoying on that first page. No loud background music that makes them quickly hit the volume control or the back button on their browser. No flashing animations while they are trying to read your content. No popup, flyout, expanding ads that cover your home page. Basically, leave the gimmicks alone until you are sure that your visitor will stay on your site. Most casual visitors will leave your site in just a few seconds, no sense on driving them away more quickly.

Multimedia is great on a web site, just don't bombard your visitor with it first thing. If you want audio, then put in a nice picture with a link, like a picture of yourself with text saying something like "Let me tell you how to make fifty thousand this month!" If they are interested, they will click on the link and listen to your message; if they are not interested in audio, then you should be using a different pitch anyway.

Also, monitor what advertisers are putting on your site if you sell ad space. I am sure you have seen those ads with the animated dancing figure, cute the first time you see it. But after seeing it 10,000 times with every imaginable character I have added the company to a líst I keep of companies I won't do business with. So their animation has gone from "look at me" to "you annoy me" in my mind. Ads like these will impact your visitor's experience. So even if your site is perfectly designed, one misplaced ad can ruin all of your hard work.

4. Have a Clear Message - Too many web sites are a mish-mash of content. This is especially true of blog pages. Certain types of sites lend themselves to stream of consciousness content, but most don't. Make it easy for your viewer to understand what your web site is about, don't make them guess. Have a clear topic headline, followed by clear and concise text. This is also where a picture is worth a thousand words, but only if the picture directly pertains to your message.

You want your visitor to quickly understand what your message is. If they like your message, they will take the time to read the rest of your page and look around your web site. If they don't like your page, then it won't do you any good having them stay on your site anyway. So, don't make your visitors guess, let them know what you are about quickly and cleanly and you will have happy visitors. And when thinking about a sales page, a happy customer is a buying customer.

5. Coordinated Design - This one should be self evident, but it is surprising how many sites change their design for every page. You want your visitor to be comfortable in your site and one way to achieve that is by having a coordinated web design. Having a consistent logo, using a consistent color scheme, keeping your navigation in the same place. All of these help to create a coordinated design. This does not mean that you can't change colors or the "Look" on different segments of your site, but if you do, the changes should not be so drastic that it feels like you have moved on to a different site.

If you select one place for your logo, one place for your navigation, one look for your buttons or other common graphic elements and stick with those then you will be well on your way to a coordinated design. If you change colors for a different section, but keep the same logo location, the same navigation location, the same button shape, then your visitors will not become lost as they move from page to page.

6. Easy Navigation - Once you have grabbed your visitors attention you want them to be able to easily move around the different areas of your web site. This is done with easy to use navigation. There are three standard, accepted locations for navigation elements on a web page: along the top, on the left side, and at the bottom. I will usually put my main navigation either along the top or along the left side. I will then put text based navigation at the bottom of the page, this text based navigation is more for the search engines than anything else, but it also makes it easy for your visitors to move to the next page when they have reached the bottom of the current page.

Most people start reading a page from the top left and then read towards the bottom right. So navigation at the left or top will be seen as soon as someone enters your page. Also navigation at the left or top will not move or change position if the browser window is adjusted in size. The worst thing you can do is to put your main navigation on the right side of the page and have your page set for a large screen size. Let's say that your page is set for 1024 across with the navigation on the right, and someone views your page at 800 across, they will not see your navigation at all. The left side of your page will show perfectly, but the right side will be hidden outside of their viewing area. Of course by using floating or popup menus you can overcome some of these design limitations and keep your navigation visible at all times.

Unless you know that your audience will enjoy it, don't use Mystery Navigation. This is where your navigation is hidden within images, or spaced around the web page in some mysterious random order. This can be fun on gaming sites, or social networking sites, but in most cases the navigation should be easy to see and easy to use. If you do want to use Mystery Navigation, I would recommend keeping the text based navigation at the bottom of the page, just in case.

7. Have a "Complete" web site - And finally, no one wants to go to a web site only to find that the site is "Under Construction" and the content they are looking for is not there. These are words that you shouldn't ever use. If a section of your web site is not ready for prime time yet, then simply don't show it yet. It is better to have your site look complete and professional, then to have it look like a work in progress that should not be up on the web yet.

You can easily tell your visitors that you will be having more content in the future without having your site look like it is unfinished. Just use phrases like "Content Updated Weekly" or "New Products Added Monthly". Both of these will tell your visitors that it would be worth their time to come back and visit later, but neither one will make your site look unfinished. So no matter how small your web site is, give the impression that you have taken the time to complete the site before putting it up on the internet, this makes for a more professional presentation and a better visitor experience.

In Closing - By following these simple 7 Basics of Good Web Design you will be well on your way to having an easy to use and successful web presence. Just keep in mind what you look for when you first land on a web page after doing a web search in Google or Yahoo, or other search engine. If you want fast loading pages, make sure your pages load fast. If you want to be able to find what you are looking for quickly and easily, then make sure you have easy navigation. Just keep your first time visitor in mind, put yourself in their web shoes and make your web site an enjoyable place to visit and success should follow.

CARA BOBOL PASSWORD FRIENDSTER ORANG!!

ada banyak cara untuk ambil FS orang.
tapi ga bagus loh ambil punya orang.

KELEMAHAN-KELEMAHAN FRIENDSTER!!

1. Keunggulan Friendster

Dah gak tau cara manfaatin FS, diisi semua tentang kepribadiannya, dibobol lagi. Untung dah tobat.

Pesan bung gue: Ingat Kejahatan Bukan Karena Ada Niat Pelakunya, Tapi Juga Ada Kesempatan! Waspadalah..Waspadalah….!!!!!!!!!

APA ITU YUWIE??

YUWIE?? APA SIHH,...!!

sekarang uda taukan Yuwie tu ap!

JOIN NOW!!!

WUAAAAW,...!!
pokokna top banget dech!!

SO??NGAPAIN LAGI ABISIN WAKTU DI FRIENDSTER??

CARA KERJA YUWIE…!!

So kira-kira skema kerja yuwie itu kayak gini:

What happen?

The Smart And Easy Way To Start Your Online Business

You have chosen the product or service you want to offer online and then comes another hard part. You should have your own web site to do business online. But you are afraid to write your own sales letter or even a landing page. Well, here is one simple formula that you can use in developing your profitable internet business.

It is quite simple, really. So simple that its simplicity is often overlooked by most people.

You just simply need to identify and recognize which internet business owner is already making money online or doing what you want to do, and the next thing you should do is model YOUR Internet Business after his.

It is just that SIMPLE!

Yes, you are allowed to copy his or her internet business system or conduct of business.

If you are wondering if it is legal on the side of the law, think about it: does anyone hold any form of copy right to a business model?

Don't get me wrong here. Do not start to copy and paste. See it as a kind of rewrite process. Keep the keywords, the heart and soul and then repackage the whole thing. This happens all the time.

Having said that, you can imitate an internet business owner or marketer who is already doing and achieving the kind of profitable results you so desire.

You can imitate his conduct of business. You can imitate his internet business system.

If he throws in bonuses each time he makes an endorsement, you can do the same. Each time you endorse a product or service as an affiliate, you can throw in your own special offers.

If this internet marketer's response rate to customer service is 24 hours, you can do the same or even better, under 12 hours.

If this internet marketer is making most of his money from list building then what is stopping you from building a profitable mailing list?

While this may sound absurdly simple, you can set up your internet business in the exact or almost similar manner and even sell the same product, assuming you have the rights to sell the same product, of course.

However, you are actually better off selling ANOTHER product, and preferably in a different market using the same internet business model or business practice.

It makes sense to model after a system that is already working that there is nearly no need for you to re-invent the wheel.

Why rediscover the same mistakes when you can save time and effort (and money as well) on doing what is already proven?

That is food for thought on your pursuit in internet marketing.

Business Credit Cards - Smart Choice For Your Small Business?

In an age of on-line payments and multinational business ventures, many small business owners are finding business credit cards to be a smart choice for simplifying payments, organizing expenses, and expanding the capability and autonomy of employees both locally and abroad. Before diving right in and applying for a small business credit card, however, every responsible business owner should ask himself or herself: is a small business credit card the right choice for my business?

There are several factors that can help determine this, but one of the simplest is how long the company has been in existence. Until a company has been around for at least two years, many banks and credit card companies may be reluctant to draw enough conclusions about the company's financial responsibility to approve a large line of credit. In cases such as these, whether a business credit card is approved or not will depend on the personal financial and credit history of whatever individual--from business partner to simple employee--actually puts in the application for the card. This may not be a problem in the case of a rock-solid personal finance history, but if there's any doubt, acquiring a good business credit card may be a trickier proposition.

Another thing to watch out for in the case of a startup small business is the question of personal financial liability. Since Santa Clara County v. Southern Pacific Railroad in 1886, corporations have had the legal status of individuals, except insofar as business credit cards for startup companies are concerned. The first years of any business are the hardest, and in the case of company bankruptcy, any outstanding financial obligations based on a business credit card will be the original applicant's responsibility to meet. In the case of a large financial obligation, this can be a disaster for personal finance. Of course this is no argument against small business credit cards in all cases--far from it. However, any company interested in setting up a small business credit card would be wise to double-check its business plan and make sure that, in the rare event that the worst occurs, a "Plan B" for paying off the credit balance is firmly in place.

Even established small businesses would do well to examine their financial needs before taking the plunge with a business credit card. In the case of a business which involves a great deal of travel on the part of its employees, a large on-line business component, or a wide variety of expenses that require the business to deal with a number of different suppliers, a small business credit card is virtually essential. However, some small businesses are largely local, largely service-based, or have only a handful of employees authorized to make purchases. In cases like this, the reluctance of a few business credit card providers to allow disputes over billing errors or payments may actually complicate expense reporting and year-end inventories--sometimes a very real problem in the case of small businesses that have expanded far beyond their original business plan or intentions, resulting in a draconian system of purchaser agreements and expense accounts. So the decision to apply for a small business credit card should be made carefully, with defined uses for the card well in place, and a possible light restructuring of the business might even be warranted in order to ensure that payment responsibilities and individual employee purchasing requirements are well-defined in order to avoid possible later problems.

With all of these caveats, are business credit cards ever a good idea? Absolutely: these caveats represent only a few problems, nothing compared to the wealth of tools a good small business credit card can provide for a burgeoning small business. A good business credit card can--and usually does--simplify inventory management and tax reporting, allow employees a greater degree of autonomy on travel, make e-commerce easy, and, depending on "rewards" or travel mileage options, can even directly offset a large share of the expenses for some businesses. So yes, a small business credit card is, in the majority of cases, the smart choice for a small business. But as with all financial matters, care should be taken to determine when that smart choice should be made, or whether the business is structured to take full advantage of it.

Tips To Starting A Successful Internet Business

Starting an internet business is not a difficult task but running a successful internet business can be a bit more difficult. There are thousands of people that have their own online business but many of them are not having any luck at all. If you want to be successful while running your internet business there are a couple of tips you can follow.

1. Before you can run a successful internet business, you are going to need the necessary knowledge. In other words, if you are looking to start an internet business, choose an industry that you are familiar with. By doing this you will ensure yourself of knowing where to start and how to handle problems as they arise. Of course, it is possible to run a successful internet business even if you do not have past experience. You will just want to make sure that you do your homework before starting. This way you will have some background information on the industry instead of simply going into the venture blind.

2. Make sure that you are organized from the very start. The most successful internet businesses are ones that have a quality business and marketing plan in place from the start. This will allow you to follow your plan as the days go by so that you do not get lost. It is hard to be successful in anything if you do not know where you are trying to go. A business plan will give you an idea on how you want your company to progress, where as a marketing plan will direct you on how to grow your company. These are two things that are synonymous with every successful internet business.

3. Never be ashamed to ask for help if you are having a rough time. A lot of business owners do not like to ask other people for help because they do not want to hurt their pride. This is something that you should come to grips with before you even get started. It is impossible to know everything about your industry but there are times when you will have to ask questions. Instead of thinking of this as a bad thing, why not look at it as a way of making new business contacts? If you are having a technical problem that you cannot figure out, you should get in touch with an IT company right away. There is nothing wrong with doing this. In fact, if you do not ask questions, you will only be holding your company back.

By following the tips above you will be well on your way to running a successful internet business. Remember, anybody can run a business but to be successful you will have to be determined.

Google Is Saved! YouTube Money Machine Mints $1 CPMs*

|

googlelogo.gifWaiting for the explosion of YouTube video revenue to spark the next wave of torrid Google (GOOG) growth? Better curl up like Rip Van Winkle. Judging by the miniscule commissions Google just paid out to its production partners, you'll be waiting for years.

As SAI's Vas Sridharan reports, YouTube proudly reported that it has shelled out...ONE MIIIIIILLLLLLLION DOLLARS...to producer partners in the past four months। The producer of one video, the 2-million-view smash hit "Break a Leg," got a check for $1,600--which equates to a net $0.80 CPM.

As we recall, Google is pretty generous with its producer partners, giving them about 75% of the gross revenue. If so, this means Google grossed about $2,133 on those 2 million views, or a CPM of about $1. Of this, Google got to keep about $500--or $0.25 per thousand. [*UPDATE: Liz Gannes at New Tee Vee was kind enough to note that Google sent her a note saying it has different deals with different production partners. So let's be conservative and assume that Google is hosing the Break a Leg auteur and keeping 75% of the money. It's still a lousy CPM]

According to Comscore, YouTube streamed about 3.4 billion videos in January. If YouTube generated a net $0.25 CPM on all of them, it would log about $850,000 of revenue per month, or a run-rate of about $10 million a year. Yes, YouTube doesn't have to pay production partners on all videos. But a vast percentage of YouTube videos are also completely unmonetizable.

According to New Tee Vee, JP Morgan Stearns analyst Bob Peck estimates that YouTube will clock about $100 million of revenue this year, of which only $20 million will come from overlay ads (presumably the kind that YouTube is paying a split to production partners on). The rest will come from display advertising on the video pages.

Based on paltry $1 million YouTube has paid to production partners in the past four months, this revenue estimate looks pretty accurate। Unfortunately, on a base of $20 billion of search and AdSense revenue, it's also immaterial.

AdSense Money Machine? The Problem With PLR Articles And Automatic Content Generators

If you are independent online publisher trying to make money on the web, it is likely that you may have been considering how to crank out more monetizable content without having to clone yourself.

money_blinds_you_350.jpg

As most experienced online marketers know, writing unique quality content is not only difficult, if not outside the reach of most people without an innate talent for this, but it is not by itself any guarantee that more money can be generated from simply publishing more of it.

What is even more difficult and little known by the mass of small independent publishers is that

a) findability and ranking inside search engines, and

b) effective value of the content to the reader

are the true critical, no-bullshit factors, that need to be attended to, to have any kind of tangible results in monetizing online content.

So it was with interest and curiosity that started reading this article, which I had run into a few days ago, and which titled itself: "The Problem with Automated Content".

I said to myself: "Oh finally someone is telling this story like it is, and informing people of what a waste of everyone's time and public resources is to create, false, duplicate content just for the sake of thinking that this approach would help you make lots of money quickly and effortlessly."

And so I dived into it:

The Problem with Automated Content

by Gordon Goodfellow

Cast your mind back about three years.

Shortly after the dawning of the Google Adsense Age, webmasters learned that their sites were effectively little gold mines or "virtual real estate" as one expert put it. The more cyber-property you had, the more virtual billboards you were able to put up (also called Adsense blocks).

And so if you made $n dollars by owning one web page with an AdSense ad (or any ad) on it, then it was reasonable to assume that you would make $n x 10,000 if you had 10,000 pages with similar ads on it.

Similarly, reason suggested that 1 million such pages would make you $n x 1,000,000.

Webmasters were eager to rise to this Gold Rush challenge, and so were those present-day providers of picks and shovels, the software developers. Applications were developed which could produce thousands of web pages in less than an hour from a keyword list.

All you had to do was a little research using Overture's keyword tool or its many free derivatives - the more sophisticated practitioner of this art would have added Wordtracker into the mix - and you had your keyword list.

Add some adjectival superlatives such as "better" or "best" or "latest" before each keyword and you had an even bigger list. Then after each keyword add "in New York" or "in London" or even all the place names in the English speaking world (there are over 30,000 of them) and you had a massive list.

The software which was available at the time could, and still can, produce whole websites consisting of tens of thousands of pages from your own such bloated keyword handiwork. Each page of that site would be highly optimized for one keyword phrase, so that you could more or less guarantee that your page would be in number one position on all the search engines, simply because it was so specific.

Such websites could be cranked out and uploaded to your server all in the same day. You could produce 50 such websites, each with thousands of pages, in a single month; all of them with AdSense blocks on each page.

The problem was, they were all unreadable.

Pages that were manufactured at that speed could hardly rely on human dexterity in creating their content. So the software which produced them - and it was ingenious software - had to resort to other means. These largely fell into two groups:

a) [harvesting and remixing of] RSS feeds and

b) what came to be called "scraped" content.

The problem with RSS feeds was that lots of other people were using the same feed.

The problem with scraped content was that it belonged to someone else. In both cases, the hyperlink which was obligatory (but which could be turned off in the case of the scraped content) bled Pagerank away and in other ways compromised the integrity of your site. Both practices also had the habit of leaving footprints for the search engines to spot. Lawyers' purses bulged a bit as well.

At about the same time, people searching the Internet complained of seeing bland web pages with content that was either non-existent, meaningless or repetitive (even, heaven forbid, duplicate). The search engines addressed this by punishing web sites that displayed those tendencies, and so raised the informational quality of their listings for a while.

This punishment consisted of altering the search engines own algorithms so that sites or pages which demonstrated such blandness were either pushed so far down the listings that they effectively could not be seen, or delisted altogether (banned).

Along came a flurry of remedies. You could pay ghost-writers at Elance or Rentacoder to produce the content for you according to a specified keyword density (but even at $3 an hour it was expensive if you wanted to replace all those thousands of pages which had just been banned by Google).

Then a huge mini-industry of private label membership sites came along, charging you a monthly fee to use its thousands of stock articles without any copyright questions being asked. (But there were seldom the specific keyword phrases you wanted in those articles, and you could never control the keyword density; also you just knew that lots of other people were using the same articles from the same membership sites.)

Other software came along and inserted random text at the top and bottom of each article, so that each page became unique in its own way. Still more software was produced which substituted common words in existing PLR articles from stock synonyms (there was word going round that if a page was 28% more different than another page then you were okay). The problem was that if the page was read as a whole, it made no sense at all. But this could still fool the search engines. Just.

The search engines were reported to have recruited thousands of student "editors" to manually weed out such aberrations from their indices.

More emphasis was placed on non-reciprocal inbound links with the appropriate keywords in the anchor text (or within ten words left or right of the anchor text), and other "off-page" considerations. And so it went on. And on.

There were all sorts of "solutions" offered to those webmasters who had known the heady days of the big-figure Google checks for doing very little, and were willing to pay almost any price to return to them. Accordingly, the software became more ambitious. In turn, the search engines became more demanding, and there were increasing signs that perfectly legitimate sites were being punished as well as the spam pages.

We seem to have reached a point where something has to give.

The browsing public does deserve better than scraped content, RSS feeds and the abundance of proto-plagiarism that it still gets.

The need is for content that makes sense and is readable by real people and also of value, as well as ticking all the boxes of the search engine bots' latest algorithms.

Equally, webmasters have a need for such content as well, yet they also have an understandable need to be able to produce that content on demand to their increasingly information-hungry readers. To satisfy such demands it is unlikely that one piece of software alone will suffice. Instead, it seems clear that a system of content delivery needs to exist which is actually sophisticated enough to produce content which is of value to all concerned.

And yes, I couldn't agree more.

But to my surprise, Gordon Goodfellow had indeed outdone himself. The sensitive article explaining some of the issues with automated content creation tools, was nothing else but a bait to a more sophisticated automated content creation solution, promoted on the very home page of his web site.

At Last, an End to the Problem of Unique Content Creation!

Now all your web pages, blog posts and articles can be unique, money-making virtual property, totally automated without using PLR documents that may get you banned for duplicate content.

How would you like to be able to create lots of laser-targeted content-rich pages automatically, each page unique, each containing exactly the keywords of your choice, with exactly your choice of keyword density, with no footprints for the search engines to spot and ban your site?

Yes, you are reading it right. Gordon Goodfellow is trying to sell you a piece of software that will automatically create content pages for you tuned to the very specific keywords you need. You only need to add AdSense and you are ready to go.

The attack on persuading you that more sophisticated and automated content creation tools are now in need for you to make you rich is well under way.

Here is more proof. Check this PRWeb press release from 10 days ago promoting with a similar approach another PLR articles generator:

October 22, 2006 -- Having released Blog Solution, Content Solution and RSS evolution, Halfagain has now launched a new system for internet publishers – The Content Club. As the name implies, The Content Club (TCC) is an advanced content system providing publishers with quality and unique articles.

Recently search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN have upgraded their duplicate content filters. With these new changes in the search engines’ algorithm any website that uses duplicate content is penalized and ranked low down with search engines. Publishers have been turning to Private Label Rights (PLR) articles that are less saturated on search engines. However this strategy also quickly loses its efficacy as more publishers use the same articles. Until now, modifying PLR articles to make them unique has been a tedious and time consuming task.

Every month, The Content Club provides its members with 500 PLR articles on 15 different niche markets. These articles are fed into TCC’s state-of-the-art technology article rewriter tool that can produce thousands of variations of the articles using a very advanced thesaurus feature. Members can also upload their own articles online and edit these automatically.

According to Alan Luk - Internet Marketer and SEO specialist “ Not only does the Content Club provide fresh PLR articles to members every month, its proprietary "Auto-Rewrite" system ensure that all the articles are "unique". This is extremely important given how publishers are battling against the duplicate content penalty.

Another key feature of The Content Club is the “Keyword Infuser”. Using this tool, publishers can target less competitive key phrases but achieve top rankings and generate more traffic using a wider keyword database.

To make The content club a complete publishing package, Halfagain is also offering the following software bonuses – BlogSolution, ContentSolution and RSS evolution.

The Content Club can be accessed through:

My advice?

If you are reading because you want to make the quickest and largest buck with the minimum effort required, you are being sold a dream that will not materialize.

If there is someone who benefited from the use of such useless content and unethical content publication approaches, these have been those who have done it first, when no-one had yet realized what was going on. Some thousands naive and unwise web users, have fallen prey of these tactics and have provided some tangible returns to those early scammers.

But web users and search engines get rapidly informed, and learn rapidly what to keep a distance, avoid or ban entirely. Easy games don't have a long life on a platform like the Internet, though it is true that novel and unprepared users jump in naively to learn all about this new reality every day.

The time for littering the web with fake automated content is over. Use your money and intelligence to build automated systems that do things that can be of real value to your potential customers.

For those like me, who are not after the "American-money-making-dream", but are looking to give greater meaning, freedom and value to their lives as independent publishers, what really counts is not how much money you can gather in the shortest time possible, but rather how much "good" you are creating for yourself and others while making a living at it.
